Design characteristics of the Rhythm Collection by Somerton includes shaped, arched and bowed surfaces, figured and quartered walnut veneers and elliptical ornamentation used as a decorative design accent to the collection. Fancy faced figured walnut are used on tops of cases in a sunburst pattern. Quartered walnut is done as a border and edge band wrap on tops. The finish is clear medium brown walnut stain with light burnishing that allows the walnut veneer to express itself in a dramatic display. The elliptical ornaments are prestained to show a dominant accent in the finish
