When Couples Clash: Marrying Masculine and Feminine Pieces

Moving in together can be an exciting time in your relationship, but can also come with a lot of baggage. For example, your taste for floral print doesn’t appeal to him, and his preference for animal hides doesn’t sit well with you. As much as we may adore our special someone sometimes we don’t always agree, and that is quite often the case with home décor. Here’s a few tips to make your space flow well with elements of masculinity and femininity.

1.       Dark Stain over Light Stain

Dark Stained furniture is considered masculine and trendy right now. It’s a classic look and will go with anything. Our Vienna bedroom collection is a perfect meshing of masculine and feminine features. The distressed dark tobacco finish & decorative molding pair beautifully with its timeless traditional style. That elegant marble tops give it texture, and the décor shown on top is made up of both masculine and feminine pieces.

2.       Leather

You can find leather pieces that are modern contemporary or give your home a more traditional rustic vibe. For your dining room we suggest our Mesa Rustica collection if you’re looking for something that’s Timeless. Its beautiful dark stained finish and tall chairs make it a piece you’ll be pleased with for years to come, and the leather material used on the chairs has a woven stitching giving it a personality of its own.

3.       Elements of nature

Bringing the outside inside is a popular trend that has caught on recently. If neither of you have a green thumb though there are plenty of creative ways to incorporate natural elements in your home.

These indoor plants are gorgeous and add life to a room, but what really stands out is their pots. The moss and wooden texture is very country casual and pleasing to the outdoorsman in your life.

A hint of cheetah print just for you! When apart they are two very different designs, but they come together to make a gorgeous and comfortable place for you and your man to be together.

5.       Wall Décor

As singles you probably both collected some great pieces that you felt expressed your personality to display in your home. However, together your pieces might not look like they belong in the same room. For instance your husband may have a collection of framed Texas flags and maps, while you prefer colorful abstract canvas art. These pieces pictured below are a great compromise to that specific situation. It comes together to create a very cowboy chic look for your home.
